I founded The Little Green Flower Company due to my sheer love for flowers & nature. For many years, after a long working week in teaching, each Saturday (early) morning I would treat myself to a trip to the local flower market. Where I would buy a selection of flowers to take home and arrange. All week I would enjoy watching them bloom and change - a little slice of nature for me to enjoy!

It became very clear how important being outside and around nature was to me and how glaringly miserable my teaching job made me - I needed something to light a spark in me; something that filled me with joy and that allowed for my creativity to be used, alongside nature.

After a little soul searching - cue the obligatory travelling & yoga teacher training - it became clear that flowers were my love. But, not just any flowers - the wild & whimsical designs were where my heart lay. Garden inspired and in-tune with the seasons. Not the average offering.

I found that I struggled to find naturally designed seasonal flowers & arrangements that reflected the seasons. This is something I wanted to change. My main goal when creating the business was to create unique, seasonal floral designs in as eco-friendly ways as possible.

 

Here began my training - no, I do not have a college NVQ or City & Guilds - instead I found training that was fine-tuned towards my preferences for natural design & eco-friendly methods - all with floral designers that I respected and admired (most 'official' training courses use floral foam - a big no for me).

I laid out the bones for my business, continued training whilst working, and when the time was right, I left my job... cue a global pandemic & complete world shut-down! The universe works in mysterious ways...

 

However, here I am years later & with my little shop in Marple Bridge that I opened in March 2022.
